Early morning and in December, a cold frost had covered the ground and the air steamed with ones breath. Walking through the stable, Matthias knew that today would be a good day. Today, the two-year old auction would go ahead and he had already taken a look at several lots, noting down their numbers, over the last few days. Everyone had the chance and he had never seen the barn so busy. Finally his dream, and that of his now deceased father, was coming true.

Biding his time during his short walk from the comfort of his home to the warmth of the auction house he stopped to see several horses which would be sold in upcoming auctions. Mostly three year olds but the odd four year old as well. Specimens of strength and without the inbreeding which had plagued them twenty years in the past.

He put his hand on the handle of the auction house door, glanced around and walked in. Quietly, he took a seat at the back of the auction house as the horses were introduced. With introductions over her decided to start the bidding.

"Two thousand on lot three and one thousand on lot four please, auctioneer." he shouted.

It was a bitter morning. December. Well, as always with December you have the bitter north wind and the cold spiteful frost. Walking into the actions wearing a small pink woolley hat, bright blue skinny jeans, black riding boots, grey gloves, and a pink woolley jacket, Alice rubbed her hands together. The curls from underneath her pink hat hung to level with her breast line. She examined the horses, looking at each and every one.

"Hello beautiful," Alice said, walking up to a beautiful big built muscular two year old. Looking down at the information, his name, Never Forget, was one that stuck in her head. Alice really liked the look of him. Looking at his reserve, it was set at £2000. She smiled, giving him a small treat.

Continuing to walk along, she walked past a colt called Storm At Sea. She wasn't here for two colts. She was here for a colt and a filly. Smiling, she came up to a beautiful grey filly. Standing at around seventeen hands, she stroked the soft velvet nose. "Hello sweetie," She smiled stroking her nose again. The filly pricked her ears and pawed at the ground. Her reserve was £1000.

Settling into the auction room, she raised her hand. "£3000 on lot 2, and £2000 on lot 11, please!" She lowered her hand, smiling, letting her curls fall naturally.
